A U R A* is an exciting combination of four young vibrant graduates from The Royal Academy of Music- Stuart Eminson, Joanne Rozario, Karen Keay and Niall Webb. A quartet of clarinets, the instrument is often described as most similar to the timbre of the natural voice. Undeniably, their use of musical beauty, wit and style creates a mesmerizing and unique sound. Their professionalism is foremost, but it’s their endearing charisma that sets them apart.
Formed at the beginning of 2005, they have played at many events with ongoing engagements. In the Summer that year they were selected to take part in the Landor Records competition and are also proud to have been invited to play at the Royal Albert Hall as part of their new lunchtime concert series called Ignite. Recently they gave several performances in Guernsey and appeared on BBC Radio Guernsey talking about their success as an ensemble and of the music world in general.
Individually, they have won many prizes for their outstanding playing and their work has taken them to esteemed orchestral posts in both Hong Kong and South Africa. They have played for many British orchestras including The City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Northern Ballet Theatre Orchestra, and The Halle Orchestra, which have led them to BBC broadcasts and recordings. Performances have varied from being under the baton of Sir Simon Rattle, to supporting the legendary jazz saxophonist, Courtney Pine.
Their wide-ranging repertoire, versatility and experience make Aura the perfect choice whether it be for recitals, session recordings, corporate functions, weddings or parties. From Mozart to McCartney, Beethoven to Blues, Aura provides the musical fineness to fit your chosen event.
In addition to the variety of repertoire Aura present, a choice of set programmes can also be offered to suit a specific occasion. Music can be arranged on request, and a demo CD is also available. They are successful artists with Music For London and The Unique Music Company.
